Each year, the Georgia State University Robinson College of Business Department of Marketing and Atlanta Business Chronicle recognize outstanding marketing innovations introduced in Georgia in the previous year with the Marketing Award for Excellence -- the MAX Awards.

Entries are judged by members of the Georgia State University Marketing Roundtable in terms of the degree of innovation, great marketing and success. Ms. Semans of Polaris Marketing Research has been a member of the Georgia State University Marketing Roundtable for more than ten years. "It is always exciting to serve as a judge and to review the entries for the MAX Award," said Ms. Semans. "However what is most interesting -- and enlightening -- is listening to my fellow judges as they argue for or against a particular entry. I always learn something from them!" This year, ten finalists were chosen from over forty entries.
